SoftTH is an open source software triplehead/multihead (multi-monitor) gaming solution for the PC. It performs the same job as AMD Eyefinity, nVidia Surround, and TripleHead2Go, only it supports any number and/or combination of non-identical or identical screens at any resolution. No special hardware is needed. You simply need your monitors attached to PCI Express video cards. Only one card does all the rendering work, so the secondary+ card(s) can be low end; only Direct3D support is required.
SoftTH works by rendering the whole scene on one display adapter, which then gets split into multiple parts to be displayed on each monitor. While it is technically possible to use it on an AGP/PCI card, only PCI Express has the required bandwidth to get good framerates.
Look here for a diagram of it's basic operation.
Want multihead gaming but don't have the cash to shell out thousands on an SLI/Crossfire rig with identical high-resolution montiors??? Then SoftTH is the solution for you. Used successfully for years by many users on dozens of games, SoftTH brings multihead gaming to the masses.
Enjoy multihead gaming today without excessive cost. SoftTH.
